“So friendly!”

We visited The Old Millhouse Inn several times during our week stay in Polperro, because the newly elected Mayor and Mayoress of Polperro (just for fun amongst the villagers!) Brian and Rita, were very welcoming and hospitable. Nothing was too much trouble, as Brian showed when kindly making us some gorgeous prawn sandwiches, even though the kitchen was already closed. Yum yum! We look forward very much to visiting again as soon as possible!

“Hospitable guests. Central location”

The new owners were very welcoming. The location is no more difficult to get to than any other place in the village. The rooms were clean and tidy.In need of some finishing touches to bring the standard up. However I am sure this will be on their to do list.

“Great weekend - Friendly hosts”

Quaint pub in a quaint Cornish fishing village. Full of character. Friendly hosts and a good English breakfast too! Great coastal scenery and some good vigorous coastal walks to other local villages. Check the public transport before you go though - its not very frequent and sometimes none at all!. Some good local pubs too and they are all friendly and well supported. A great few days away!

“Fab few days away”

We have visited Polperro several times and this has been the fourth time that we have stayed. We would highly recommend The Old Millhouse Inn, the room we had was light, airy and spacious as was the ensuite. Our hosts Rita and Brian were excellent and couldn't do enough for you, breakfast was beautiful and plenty of it. We also had an evening meal which was excellent value for money and the steak was delicious and tender. On the whole it's a very friendly home from home including the barman Phil.

“Small and Friendly”

Great little place in the centre of things. Clean, well furnished room with everything you need. Good beer and banter in the bar area and a delicious home cooked hot meal. Excellent cooked breakfast. The owners had not been there for long and I think where still finding their way around the place but don't let that put you off they're very friendly and it's a really good little pub.

“Good food and service”

We had a very nice meal here, fish and chips and fish finger sandwich. Service was good and staff friendly and welcoming. The pub is nicely decorated and not as cramped as some of the other pubs in Polperro. Would be happy to return when in the area again.

“Little gem tucked away!”

Unexpected pleasure! As it's tucked away in a back street. Luckily the chef was just putting up a poster, overheard us talking about where to eat,and she directed us to The Old Mill House! Believing in fate, we headed straight there. We weren't disappointed. We were given a very warm welcome. The ambiance is very pleasant.

The menu had plenty of variety and we ordered a BLT sandwich , and ham, egg and chips. Both were cooked really nicely, and the toasted BLT came with plenty of salad, coleslaw and potato salad. The hand carved ham was very tasty, and huge portion.

Nothing was too much trouble. We met Brian, very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended. Definitely going back!

“The Old Mill House, Polperro”

Brian and Rita have recently taken over The Old Millhouse Inn and I have to say as a visitor to Polperro and having stayed for a week we haven't found it til day 3! Have to say that as a couple who enjoy good food and company this is one of Cornwall's and Polperro's little gems. Great and wholesome good value food and absolutely great company. Very welcoming and thoroughly recommended.
